We are looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Advisor

The role encompasses deployment of Contract Management activities for London hub, covering a new carbon capture project based in North Wales.

The role will be based in Kingston-upon-Thames from April until September and from then on, it will be based in Wales.

Contract Advisor - 12 months Agency (Outside IR35)

The selected candidate shall:

• Review and qualify or draft different types of contracts, including but not limited to: engineering, procurement, Construction (EPC), service contracts, as well as associated confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure and restrictive use agreements; partnership/consortium/joint venture/alliance agreements, subcontract agreements;

• Manage the workload in coordination with Tendering/Commercial, Project Management and Procurement functions, collecting the inputs from the other functions, including Insurance, Tax and Finance;

• Prepare Contract Summaries on tender/project specific basis;

• Advise Company and Corporate Management on the main contractual risks, identifying and proposing contractual mitigation actions;

• Support the Procurement function in the review of subcontracts and purchase orders

• Draft all related legal instruments and correspondence;

• Perform legal research, e.g. case law affecting Company market space;

• Have knowledge of the industry standard contracts (FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO, IOCs’ etc.);

• Assist in the resolution of legal and contractual matters, in coordination with the relevant Corporate functions.

Essential Skills

• Knowledge and experience of English Law;

• Proven experience of reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and of administrating project contracts and effective negotiation skills are essential;

• Proven experience negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, listening and influencing;

• Strong commercial awareness;

• Ability to work under time pressure to meet deadlines;

• Critical thinking and problem solving skills;
