We have a vacancy for an experienced Flood Risk/Drainage Engineer

The core role is to produce FRAs for development projects in accordance with the NPPF, including outline drainage/SuDS strategies.

Person Specification:

·Educated to at least degree level in an engineering, geography or environmental science related subject
·A minimum of one year of relevant consultancy experience
·Demonstrable track record in delivering proportionate Flood Risk Assessments and advice on development sites in the UK
·Graduate Membership of a relevant professional body, such as CIWEM or ICE

Role and Responsibilities:

·Acting as author of Flood Risk Assessments for a broad mix of private sector development and public sector flood risk management schemes

·Formulation of conceptual surface water drainage strategies incorporating SuDS and associated hydraulic calculations

·Attending meetings with clients, design teams, local authorities and statutory and non- statutory consultees

Key Skills:

·Working knowledge of the UK Flood Risk Planning Policy and Guidance, SuDS Guidance and the broader planning system
·Problem solver and solution finder
·A keen eye for detail
·Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
·Proficiency in MicroDrainage, GIS, AutoCAD and Civil 3D desirable but not essential
