Role and Responsibilities

Assemble and maintain the 3-D services installation and builderswork models into a federated model to be used at coordination meetings and for clash detection. This will take the form of a fly through for the designated area/zone to be signed off using Navisworks.

The Cad Manager/BIM coordinator will oversee the CAD bureaux via the team leader for the bureaux and ensure the models submitted from other trades follow the correct protocols and procedures to make sure fully co-ordinated models are available for compilation to a federated model for review.

Manage the interface between the design team, client, stakeholders, suppliers, project team, construction team and the FM providers

Represent the company at meetings, promote the correct company image and ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities in this area

Ensure the correct administration of the agreed document and model publication and sharing system and BIM collaboration procedures, all projects will use the good practices of the BIM process but may not have the onerous duties of full asset tagging or Cobie drops for soft landings. (reporting back to the BIM manager if the project is full BIM.)

Review all major plant, equipment and associated ancillaries prior to modelling to ensure compliance with design expectations and spatial requirements for commissioning, maintenance and safe and effective installation. In conjunction with design managers, ensure the design complies with brief, contract, legislation, planning, building regulations, CDM and technical requirements

Review the federated 3-D models to ensure the services installation conforms to BSRIA Technical Note TN 10/92 ‘Space Allowances for Building Services Distribution Systems’.

Undertake regular coordination meetings and workshops to ensure the proper coordination of the services and resolve any issues arising.

Manage workflow to ensure that the BIM coordination programme remains aligned to the project programme. Any change is to be identified (client or domestic changes) agreed with the project QS and project manager before works undertaken.

Maintain audit trail for the works and include dashboard reports (Word & Excel) together with drop line programmes for drawing production (Microsoft projects/Asta Power projects)

The role will be an administrative role and will not require hands on coordination, therefore the software familiarity necessary for the role will be Navisworks, Excel, Word Projects and EDMS familiarity Conject, Asite 4-Projects etc..

Ensure the maintenance of records including as-built drawings, letters, emails, notices, drawings site records, and computer data and ensure the maintenance of records for archived materials.
