Job Title: Senior Civil Technician
Client is a leading provider of construction consulting services with expertise in structural and civil engineering. Our services encompass Structural Engineering, Building Information Modelling, Civil Engineering, and Infrastructure Design across various sectors such as Residential, Retail, Distribution, and Technology.
Role Overview
The Senior Civil Technician will play an important role in the preparation of design models and drawings. They will produce 3D engineering design models, drawing plans, assisting with technical approval submissions and preparation of construction details, with a variety of work on a day-to-day basis.
You will manage with design coordination, maintain accurate project documentation, and ensure all outputs meet UK standards, relevant codes, and client specifications. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams from concept design through to project delivery
Key Responsibilities
·Produce and coordinate detailed civil engineering designs using Autodesk Civil 3D and other relevant 3D design software
·Prepare highway, utilities and drainage designs in accordance with current standards and best practice
·Utilise specialist software such as Autodesk Vehicle Tracking and MicroDrainage or equivalent packages where require
·Liaise confidently with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, consultants and contractors
·Collaborate effectively with senior and junior staff to deliver high-quality design outputs within agreed timescales
·Mentor and support junior technicians, including day-to-day guidance and assistance toward professional qualifications
·Review, check and validate own work prior to submission, ensuring accuracy, compliance and quality
Qualifications/Skills
·HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g. EngTech)
·Proven experience in highway, utilities and drainage design principles
·Comprehensive knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D or similar 3D design software
·Experience with Autodesk Vehicle Tracking and MicroDrainage or equivalent drainage and modelling software is desirable
·Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
·Demonstrated ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and take ownership of design tasks
·Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams and supporting the development of junior staff

Salary: £35-48k pa (+ benefits) depending on experience
