CAD Manager

Talented and proactive CAD Manager to take a leading role in the production and coordination of MEP designs across a wide range of projects - from small-scale refurbishments to large housing, education, and commercial developments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven CAD professional with an eye for detail, who values technical excellence, team collaboration, and the satisfaction of seeing high-quality designs come to life.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing Production & Coordination

• Produce accurate, coordinated 2D MEP drawings up to construction level.
• Translate engineers’ mark-ups and briefs into clear, high-quality CAD drawings.
• Manage MEP drawings, models, worksets, and sheets to project and company standards.
• Ensure effective coordination across MEP, architectural, and structural disciplines.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Liaise daily with the engineers to understand project deadlines and receive incoming CAD Requests
• Liaise daily with other offices to allocate CAD Requests at the end of each day and technical review of incoming CAD Requests each morning to ensure consistency of output.
• Undertake CAD duties and drawings production within the London Office throughout the day.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to CAD technicians.
• Support engineers at design team and client meetings, contributing to project coordination and technical discussions.

Quality, Standards & Process

• Follow and enhance QA and BIM processes in line with company standards.
• Maintain compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry best practice (CIBSE, BSRIA, UK BIM Framework, ISO 19650).
• Ensure all drawings and models are stored and managed in accordance with company document control and digital engineering procedures.
• Ensure document control by managing published outbox and document issue sheets for each project

Skills & Experience Required

• 5-10 years’ proven experience producing MEP drawings using AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of building services, coordination, and construction processes.
• Experience working in a small to medium-sized consulting engineering practice.
• Experience in managing and providing drawings production across multiple projects and deadlines.
• Confident in setting up and managing 2D layouts, schematic drawings, and MEP models.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and British Standards.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and disciplines.

Software Skills

• AutoCAD - essential
• Revit - preferred
• Navisworks - preferred
• Microsoft Excel / Word - essential
• IES - desirable (not essential)
