Senior CAD/BIM Technician
Role
The senior CAD/BIM technician is responsible for the day to day production of drawings and models within agreed budget and programme and to a high quality. This includes communicating with the client, other consultants and colleagues to ensure a brief is adhered to in the delivery of projects.
Responsibilities of the Role
•Ensure models/drawings are delivered to a high technical standard and compliant with the agreed schedule of deliverables
•Ensure models/drawings are prepared in accordance with quality procedures
•Maintain technical control and agreed programme of projects
•Mentor and support members of the team
•Liaise effectively with clients and other design team members
•Complying with company policies
•Adopting ‘best practice’
•Proactive in self development
•Keeps the Task Team updated with agreed resolutions and progress of on-going resolution
•Coordination of the production of information using agreed standards. Review deliverables ensuring that the information produced by the Task Team is compliant with the Project SMP (standard method and procedure) prior to being shared
•Understand training and support requirements of TaskTeam with respect to the Project SMP
•Delivery of the relevant information in accordance with the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP)
•Resolution of spatial coordination issues and escalates unresolved coordination issues to the Task Team Information Manager
•Provides Task Team with updated agreed resolutions and progress of on-going resolution items
•Review the information produced by the Task Team against the brief to ensure that the information deliverables are consistent with the required Suitability Code
•Identify and communicate risks associated with the Information issue to the Delivery Team
•Proactive in self-development. Research and development into emerging technologies

•Development of coding within the Digital Engineering group to provide efficient engineering solutions and business support tools
Key Skills
Essential
•Good understanding of construction principles
•Experienced in the application of drafting software and aware of its limitations
•Effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
•Effective personal time management skills
•Proactive approach to work
•Commitment to continual improvement at a personal level
•Ability to work within the ISO 19650 environment and associated processes
Preferable
•HND/HNC in civil engineering
•Experience in the production of renders and animations
•Knowledge of RC detailing
•Understanding of structural solutions to assist in the design integration process
•Computer programming skills in Rhino / Grasshopper
Key Competencies
Technical
•Familiar with the detailing requirements of British Standards/Eurocodes/Building Regulations
•Competent in model creation using Revit software
•Able to use AutoCAD computer drafting software packages
•Can effectively deliver draughting aspects for new build and refurbishment projects
•Sound knowledge of detailing and construction methods
•Have an understanding of CDM Regulations
•Have a good understanding of computer programming tools
Status: Permanent
Location: London/Waterloo | 3 days in office and 2 days remote
Salary: £55k depending on experience
