RGA added a new position •Senior Civil Engineer with extensive rail sector experience.
Ideal candidate:
•Experience working on high-profile rail infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on the detailed design of track drainage and earthworks drainage.
•Candidates with previous experience acting as a Contract of Responsible Engineer - Design (CRED) under Network Rail’s assurance process.
Project includes:
Rail Infrastructure - Track drainage, earthworks drainage, embankment stabilisation, culverts, minor civils, temporary works, surveys and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
•Act as CRED, accountable for the delivery of safe, compliant designs under Network Rail standards.
•Lead detailed design and provide technical oversight on track drainage and earthworks drainage packages.
•Manage rail infrastructure projects from inception through to delivery.
•Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
•Implement assurance and quality procedures to maintain compliance with Network Rail, RWP and industry standards.
•Mentor, support, and supervise junior and mid-level engineers.
•Oversee resource planning and skills development across project teams.
•Lead technical discussions and represent the business in project meetings and design reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
•Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartership.
•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
•Minimum 5 years’ experience, with a proven record of delivering rail civil engineering projects.
•Strong technical knowledge of track drainage and earthworks drainage design.
Skills
•In-depth knowledge of Network Rail assurance and compliance processes.
•Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
•Proficiency in industry-standard design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, rail-specific tools).
•Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
