Civil Engineer with experience in Civil Engineering within the rail sector

Projects:

•Rail Infrastructure – Track Drainage, embankment stabilisation, culverts, minor civils, temporary works, surveys and inspections


The role includes:

•Assist in managing rail infrastructure projects from inception to completion

•Provide technical input to project teams.

•Contribute to ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

•Support the building and maintenance of strong relationships with clients, including railway operators and contractors.

•Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and contribute to innovative rail engineering solutions.

•Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, structural engineers, and environmental specialists.

•Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards in rail engineering design and construction.

•Assist in reviewing project deliverables to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

•Stay up-to-date with advancements in rail engineering, emerging technologies, and best practices.

•Contribute ideas for innovative engineering solutions and sustainable rail practices.


Ideal candidate:

•Candidates with Network Rail experience, experience of the London Underground network would be beneficial but not essential.

•Sound knowledge of civil engineering principles and railway engineering.

•Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

•Capability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced rail environment.

•A commitment to safety, sustainability, and excellence in engineering practices.


Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent industry experience).

•1-3 years of experience in civil engineering with exposure to rail projects.

•Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised institution (e.g., ICE) is desirable.

•Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, and familiarity with railway-specific software tools.
